Okay, so y’all! Seriously I have this tendency to make bhel “literally” out of everything like literally. Please tell me that I’m not crazy because it tastes like a carnival in your mouth.

Real simple ingredients are all readily available in your pantry anytime.

Ingredients:

  • One packet of Brim’s fiery hot crunchy cheese curls.( Available in dollar store)
  • 1/2 onion (Very finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp date chutney
  • Green cilantro mint chutney ( I use the bombay sandwich chutney)
  • Nylon sev
  • Coriander leaves (Finely chopped)
  • Pomegranate arils
  • Chaat masala

Method:

  1. In a large bowl, empty a full packet of Brim’s fiery hot curls.
  2. Add 1/4 cup of chopped onions.
  3. Add 1/3 cup date chutney.
  4. Add 1/4 cup bombay sandwich chutney.
  5. Sprinkle a handful of nylon sev covering all the curls.
  6. Top it off with finely chopped coriander leaves and pomegranate arils.
  7. Sprinkle chaat masala and voilá.

Tips:

  • Make sure to not dilute the date chutney with water. Diluting the chutney will make the bhel soggy.
  • If you’re adding the homemade green chutney, make sure to sprinkle the chaat masala after the green chutney is added to the mixture.

Recommendation:

  • Please use nylon sev for mouthwatering results. Do not use thick sev.
  • I prefer using the store bought bombay sandwich chutney over the home made green chutney because it gives the perfect kind of tanginess and that masala flavor to cut through the sweetness of the date chutney.
