Okay, so every time I think of tutti frutti, I teleport straight back into my childhood. Every Indian summer consisted of either some type of tutti frutti ice cream or just raw tutti fruits to cool down from the scorching heat. I was obsessed with those vibrant colors. Hence,I got this idea to create a recipe with waffles and tutti frutti.
Prep time : 5 mins | Cook time : 5 mins
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Method:
- Beat 2 eggs until fluffy and mix the rest of the ingredients listed above with the fluffy eggs until the batter gets smooth.
- Add 1/4 tbsp of tutti frutti to the batter and give it a good mix.
- Preheat the waffle iron and spray the iron with some non-stick oil spray.
- Pour the batter using a ladle into the hot iron and close the waffle maker. Do not overfill.
- The light will turn green once the waffle is cooked.
- Serve hot with a dollop on cool whip and some fresca berries.
- Top it off with powdered sugar for some extra sweetness (This ingredient is completely optional).
- The combination of berries and cool whip along with the tutti frutti tastes so fresh and delightful.
Using the packaged waffle batter:
- Waffle mix is also available in any grocery store. Follow the package instructions step by step and prepare the batter. Mix 1/4 tbsp Tutti Frutti in it. Serve hot and enjoy.
